Okay so if ur pissed at Bordlesniff Cringlepringle for saying that Sherlock was too smart to be autistic then pls consider watching The Bridge because
- Saga Norén is a brilliant detective with a Holmes level of deductive reasoning but actually realistic about it and so cool
- She has no social skills and is repeatedly offensive to co-workers or witnesses but when she realises she’s done things wrong she reads books and asks people for advice on how to improve her behaviour and fit in more
- She’s literally the “brilliant white guy is too intelligent for his dumb human co-workers” trope except feminist and a woman and so much better and tries to fix her behaviour so as not to upset people??
- Her social difficulties aren’t played off for laughs and so that the audience and other characters can laugh at her
- She’s never specified in-show to be autistic but Sofia Helin, her actor, spoke extensively with the writers and with autistic people and researched Asperger’s extensively to get the strongest and most progressive character she could
- Saga is the highly-sexed white guy of any other show and is completely open about her sexual habits and masturbation
- She’s hilarious but not in a way that plays her off for laughs
- The PLOTS of this show are amazing like sure Steven Moffat sometimes writes good but you will ALWAYS be left guessing with The Bridge and you will ALWAYS be broken in the end by it
- All of the plots address real-world social problems like poverty, eco-terrorism, feminism, and homophobia/transphobia
- Saga shows really clear growth throughout the series and the main sub-plot of the show so far is based around developing relationships, improving her social skills, and coming to terms with serious childhood trauma suppressed up to this point by an inability to communicate her feelings to others
- There are three series and series 4 is on the way
- Series 1 & 2 are on Netflix
- Seriously it’s incredible and Saga is a reversal of the ambiguously autistic brilliant detective trope and her main sidekick is an older guy who’s sensitive and tries to make her realise her faults but treats her well even when she upsets him and there’s no romantic interest in each other whatsoever
- Please
- It’s so funny and heartbreaking and tense af
- Saga is so badass she once beat up five would-be kidnappers then answered the door to Martin and he was like “ARE YOU OKAY?!” and she was like ?? yea? and he just pointed at the bodies littering her hotel room and she was like oh yeah they were really badly coordinated it wasn’t hard
- Please
- Saga Norén
- The Bridge/Bron/Broen
- It’s in Swedish and Danish but it’s subtitled
- pls
